Festival of Careers

Every year, our Career Development Service organises Leicester’s unique Festival of Careers, a huge graduate recruitment event with a wide range of top employers from across many sectors.

The Festival takes over the campus for five whole days and you can attend it every year, so you will have three, maybe four, Festivals during your time at Leicester, depending on your course.

The University of Leicester Festival of Careers is more than just a careers fair. As well as browsing the stands presented by top employers, the entire week is filled with workshops, presentations and information sessions dedicated to helping you find out what’s available in the world of work, entrepreneurship and study.

It gives you the opportunity to hear from employers, discuss your options and learn more about you. The best bit is there is something for everyone. Whether you’re a first year studying Mathematics or a finalist studying History, the Festival is open to all.

Preparing for the festival

We want you to get the most from the Festival of Careers, not just wander around collecting free pens and post-it notes. It’s your opportunity to interact with employers, find out what they want from graduates – and show them what you personally have to offer.

That’s why we put every student who signs up for the Festival through a training programme – so that you know what you're looking for, what questions to ask and, crucially, precisely what you have to offer. Only then do we let you loose on the stalls. And the employers really appreciate this.

My colleagues and I were extremely impressed with the calibre of students we spoke to. Especially with the preparation and thought they had put in before attending the event ... which meant we were able to give them advice rather than generic information.
